We were saddened to hear of our cousin Burt's passing. Although we hadn't seen each other in many years, we are still family. Please accept our sincere condolences.

My cousin Burt was a warm and loving person with a strong commitment to family. He meticulously maintained a family tree and kept in close touch with his extended family in the Chicago area and beyond. There was a special bond between Burt and my mother, who thought of her sister-in-law Mary Fainman, Burt’s mother, as her own sister. Burt continued his mother‘s connection with my mother and my sister Penny and me. Burt’s beloved wife Marian and beloved daughter Marna share that connection to family, and Burt’s spirit will live on through them.

We send our heartfelt condolences to the entire Fainman family. Even though we're not Chicagoans, we'll remember how Burt always warmly greeted us during our visits and made us feel so welcome and part of the family. May his beautiful sweet soul rest in peace.

Marion and family, while I'm saddened to hear about Burt's passing, I'm heartened that he lived a happy, fulfilled life. He was, as the eulogies described and as i remember, a true mensch. May his memory be a blessing.
