OBITUARY

Harvey Schwartz, 84

Beloved husband, partner and best friend for 58 wonderful years of Suzanne nee Shapiro. Loving father of Lisa (Pat) Hanley, David Schwartz and Karyn (Carl) Boraiko. Proud and adored grandfather of Tyler, Hallie, Diana, Maxwell, Cassie, Eliza, Gillian and Olivia. Devoted brother of Frances (Howard) Ross and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Dear friend and colleague of many. Former presiding Judge of the Third Municipal District. Former Supervising Judge of the Chicago Traffic Court. Past President of the Illinois Judges Association. Former Corporation Council of the Village of Skokie for 22 years, including when the Nazi Party was threatening to march in Skokie. Past Commander of the All American Legion Post 1776. Past Commander of the Skokie Drum and Bugle Corp. A Founder and Past Chairman of the Skokie Caucus Party. He will always be remembered for his love of family and friends. Services Friday, 11:00 am at Chicago Jewish Funerals, 8851 Skokie Blvd (at Niles Center Road), Skokie. Interment Shalom Cemetery. I first met Harvey four years ago while working on my documentary film, Surviving Skokie. His interview moved me very much. What a lovely man. I am sorry that my film wasn't completed in time for him to see it. He will be missed.
