OBITUARY
Elena Shinderman (nee Kaplanski) died peacefully in Las Vegas, Nevada on August 28, 2015 at the age of 87. Elena is survived by her children Mina Rosen and Alan Shinderman; brother Irving (the late Rae) Kaplan; grandchildren Jenna and Mitchell Shinderman; nieces Lisa (Andy) Melnick and Jackie (Ann) Kaplan-Perkins; and great nieces and nephew, Eve and Ty Melnick and David Kaplan-Perkins. She was preceded in death by her husband David and son Morris. Elena was born and raised in Cuba by her parents Henna and Jack Kaplanski. She moved to Chicago in 1962 and raised her family on the north side of the city. Elena will be remembered for her love of cooking Cuban dishes, crocheting blankets for family and playing bingo. details. Elena will be greatly missed.
