Fraya's presence in my son's life is something that he and our family will treasure. Fraya's positive energy and loving kindness was something she generously shared, and she always had enough to give to everyone. I have been both humbled and inspired by her optimism during her illness. We will miss Fraya and will carry in our hearts the lasting impressions she made with her extraordinary spirit.

Fraya's loss is profound. She will be forever remembered as an upbeat, energetic Jewish educator who impacted hundreds of young people. Her commitment to Judaism and her students was unparalleled. I always enjoyed chatting with her when I saw her at our store. My heart is filled with tears and I extend my condolences to the family.

To Steven, Justine and Marcus please know that Chuck and I feel as if we have lost one of our best friends. Fraya was always therer when we needed her all of the 15 years we lived in Chicago and has always been there for me (Marsha) since we moved back to Atlanta. Please know that we will miss her. And she will be in our thoughts and the three of you are in our prayers and thoughts. during this most difficult time.

One of my most favorite memory of Fray is when the 4 of us had to go to Georgia when a cousin of mine was killed in a car accident. I called Fraya to take Moe (our dog) to the vet. When she went to our house she could not get the dog from out from under the bed so she went back to your house and got Astro (your dog) and took him back to my house Astro got under the bed and Moe had to come out from unde the the bed. From then on any time Astro and Moe saw each other they were anything but friendly toward each.

Fraya will be missed by all four Bernstein's.

My heart is broken at the loss of Fraya! She was not only a fellow education director, but she was so upbeat and creative and full of the joy of life. The world of Jewish education is darker without her joyful presence. We will carry your memories in our hearts, dear Fraya!

Dear Steve and beloved family,

It is hard to believe of a world without Fraya. Her energy, love, commitment, and goodness touched the lives of people of all ages. Wherever Fraya was needed, she was always there. She gave from her heart and soul unconditionally. She instilled Jewish values in our children that will be with them for a lifetime. We are all so saddened that we will no longer see her and our life cycle events, at social gatherings, or simply on a daily basis. Nevertheless, her Jewish spirit and love of life will always guide us in our actions and deeds.
Our only solace is that we know that her soul in now bound with our ever living God and that we all better people because Fraya was part of our lives.
May her memory be for a blessing to all who knew and loved her.

With our love and blessings,

Bruce and Barb Scher, Robyn Scher, and Heidi and Ed Pevos

Fraya was like a second mom to me growing up. I still remember the threat of being kissed by her with thick red lipstick if I did not behave. Even as an adult, Fraya was a part of my life, including helping with my wedding and staying in touch as much as she could. She will be missed immensely.
