Bertram C. Gelder, CLU, 93, of San Mateo, Calif., formerly of Skokie. Beloved husband of Marilyn (Slatt) for 27 years, and the late Betty (Flegel) until her death in 1985. Proud father of Michael (Mary Rita Luecke) and Cheryl (Dr. Barry) Kogan; dear grandfather of Hannah and Moriah Gelder, Rebecca (Rob) Tupuritis and Sarah (Michael) Benedetti; great-grandfather of Dean and Beau. Bert was born in Chicago, graduated from high school in Benton Harbor, Mich., attended University of Michigan and Northwestern University. He served honorably in the U.S. Army in World War II and pursued a long career at Prudential Insurance Company. Service Tuesday, 11 AM at Chicago Jewish Funerals, 8851 Skokie Blvd (at Niles Center Road), Skokie. Interment following at Shalom Memorial Park.
