Gershon Young, age 92

Beloved husband of 60 years to the late Bernice Young. Devoted father of Merra (William Prottengeier) Young and Judy (Norman) Litz. Proud Grandfather of Rachel (Fischel), Rivkie (Eli), Rena(Tzvi), Joey and Elijah. Dear great grandfather of Coby, Max, Ella, Rose, Elan and Tobie. Loving son of the late Shia and Merra and brother of the late Masha and Tobie who perished in the holocaust. Survivor of Auschwitz, Dachau, Bergen Belson and various work labor camps. Came to Chicago in 1950, Gershon was a member of the Jewish Lithuanian Club and Congregation KJBS. Lived at Park Plaza for the past 12 years. He was a very special man who loved his family dearly. He loved to cook, daven, sing and dance. He was famous for his homemade potato kugel and latkes. As patriarch of our family he will be remembered in our hearts forever. Special thanks and gratitude to his caretaker Rennet Cassanova who made "Poppys" life a rich and fulfilling one. Service Tuesday 12PM at Congregation KJBS, 3701 West Devon, Chicago. Interment Shalom.
