I'm a friend of Sandy's daughter Denise. Over many years ,working in Chicago, I spent many holidays away from my own family on the East Coast. Sandy always made sure to invite me to family gatherings like Memorial Day, Independence Day, and especially Mother's Day, where she was my warm and welcoming local "Mom." I will remember her warmth always.
